Ricoh has officially unveiled the new HD Pentax-D FA 21mm F / 2.4 ED Limited DC WR wide-angle lens for the Pentax K mount.
The company said this is the first 21mm D-series Super zoom lens in the FA Limited. Like other lenses in the Limited series, the lens has been designed to provide a “vivid visual expression,” Ricoh says.

The manufacturer claims that this lens is designed for landscape photography, as it will provide a sharp and clear image across the entire frame. When shooting at close range, it allows you to approach the subject at a distance of 7 centimeters from the front of the lens.
The optical design of the new HD Pentax-D FA 21mm F / 2.4 ED Limited DC WR lens consists of 11 elements in 8 groups, of which four ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass elements and one Super ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass element to minimize chromatic aberration and color blur prevention not only in the main focus area but also in the surrounding defocused areas.
It is also reported that the HD Pentax-D FA 21mm F / 2.4 ED. Limited DC WR features a glass-shaped biconvex aspherical optical element and a high refractive index glass optical element in the first group of lenses, all of which will help to reduce the overall lens size and ensure high image quality even in peripheral areas.
In addition, the lens is said to have received Pentax’s proprietary HD – High Definition coating. This coating provides higher light transmission with minimal reflectivity, effectively minimizing glare even in challenging lighting conditions such as backlighting.
