A mattress is where the majority of people spend around a third of their lives. Mattresses accumulate a lot of dirt and dust as a result, and they are usually discolored. Your mattress may lose its appeal with time, or it may pose a health risk to you and your family. It also has the ability to detect undesirable smells or odors. You may conduct a deep clean of your mattress by preparing it, washing it, and removing stains.

Make sure you’re working in a well-ventilated environment:

Open all of the windows and doors in the room. Open windows throughout your home and turn on the air conditioner to improve cross-ventilation.

  • Check that the area isn’t too moist or wet.
  • You’ll help in the drying of the mattress after putting cleaners on it, as well as enabling unpleasant scents and chemical aromas to dissipate, by airing the room.

Remove the sheets and bedding:

Before Mattress Steam Cleaning, remove everything that isn’t a part of it. Because dirt, grime, and smells may accumulate on sheets, mattress liners, mattress protectors, and other objects we regularly lay on top of our mattresses, this is critical.

  • As you remove your sheets, fold them gently to avoid extra dust or debris from landing on the mattress.
  • Take off any mattress protectors you’ve used to keep your mattress secure.
  • Remove any removable fabric components.

Vacuum your mattress thoroughly:

Vacuuming your mattress completely is perhaps the most important element of mattress preparation. If you don’t vacuum the mattress properly, there will be a lot of dirt and particles left on it, weakening your cleaning efforts.

  • Use an upholstery attachment when vacuuming.
  • Vacuum the mattress in a width-by-width pattern until it is totally clean.
  • Use the crevice attachment to vacuum hard-to-reach crevices, indentations, and embroideries.
  • Vacuum the mattress on the opposing side.

Disinfecting and deodorizing

Deodorizing can be done with baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda or similar deodorizer generously on the mattress. Allow the baking soda to work its magic for up to 24 hours. If your mattress is not sufficiently deodorized, it will retain odors and will not be mattress cleaning efficiently.

  • It’s acceptable if you use the entire box, or even more.
  • The baking soda absorbs more moisture and odor the longer it sits on the mattress.
  • You may choose from a variety of mattress deodorizer options while washing your mattress. Simply follow the directions on the product’s package.
  • If you live in a dry climate, keep your window open.
